Directions

Library Camp NYC 2007 is being held at Baruch College on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, from 9 am to 4 pm. We will meet in the conference rooms on the 14th floor of the Vertical Campus building, which is located at 55 Lexington Avenue. (Please note that the meeting will NOT be in the library building but the building across the street from the library.) Entrances to the building are at the corner of 24th Street and Lexington Avenue and on the south side of 25th Street between Third and Lexington Avenues.

Transportation

Although there are parking garages nearby that you can put your car in, public transit is probably the best way to get to Baruch College.

Train

  • From Connecticut and New York. Metro-North trains go to Grand Central Station. From Grand Central, you can walk to Baruch (a 20-minute walk, but remember it will be hot in mid-August), take a bus, the subway (take the downtown 6 train to the 23rd Street Station), or a taxi (should cost about $5-6).
  • From Long Island, NY. Long Island Rail Road trains go to Penn Station. From Penn Station it's easiest to walk (about a 15-minute walk) or take a taxi (should cost about $5-6)
  • From New Jersey. New Jersey Transit trains go to Penn Station. From Penn Station it's easiest to walk (about a 15-minute walk) or take a taxi (should cost about $5-6).
  • Via Amtrak. Amtrak trains go to Penn Station. From Penn Station it's easiest to walk (about a 15-minute walk) or take a taxi (should cost about $5-6).

Subway

Bus

  • MTA bus map (PDF).
  • From the east or west side of Manhattan. Take the M23 bus, which runs along 23rd Street, and get off at the corner of 23rd Street and Lexington Avenue.
  • From lower Manhattan. Take the M101, M102, or M103 bus, all of which run north on Third Avenue, and get off at the corner of Third Avenue and 23rd Street.
  • From midtown or upper Manhattan. Take the M101, M102, or M103 bus, all of which run south on Lexington Avenue, and get off at the corner of 24th Street, and Lexington Avenue (the bus turns off of Lexington Avenue onto 24th Street and heads over to Third Avenue to continue downtown).

Parking Garages and Lots

  • Forget about trying to park on the street (unless you have an hour to kill and lots of patience)
